The Latest

This weekend was such a blast! Friday night after work, Bryant and I went to Lulu Wilson, the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside with Mali. It was so relaxing to sit out on the side walk and hang out in Aspen for the evening.

Saturday morning we woke up early and hiked the Lost Man Trail near the top of Independence Pass. It is almost 9 miles to do the loop. It was so incredibly beautiful! The upper half of the hike is so much like hiking in the Alps. You are above tree line and surrounded by high alpine meadows. It feels like you should be singing "The Hills are Alive," at the top of your lungs, except for that you are hiking at over 12,000 feet, so merely breathing is a major effort.

Saturday evening we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with Trevor and Amy Jo at a restaurant in Carbondale called 689. We ate outside on the deck under a string of white lights, drank too much wine and talked for about 3 hours.

Sunday we went to church and to breakfast with the Everett's. Bryant and I were worn out, so we took a long nap on the couch. That evening, our dinner group got together at Macky and Andee Morris' house on the Frying Pan River that Regan Construction recently completed. The guys got to go fishing and each of them caught 2 fish! What a spot!

So, we are now back to Monday again. Only four more sleeps until the next adventure begins. Although, living in Aspen, you never really know when the next adventure is around the corner.

I am working on updating some of the features on the blog. And, I still can't find the charger for my camera battery, so I apologize for the lack of photos. I hope to get our camera up and running soon!

Until the Next Adventure,

This past weekend we all went to Denver to go to Waterworld for Kyla's 7th birthday. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the family for the weekend. Please enjoy the following pictures from our adventure. Although there are only a few because we misplaced the camera, I thought they were worthy of sharing. Enjoy!

Until the next adventure!

Taking Advantage of Where We Are...

This past year has been a big transition for Bryant and I. We got married, bought a house and both changed jobs (Bryant within the same company). Although we honeymooned in Europe, we have not travelled or taken as many mini vacations as we have in the past, which begged the thought; Why don't we spend more time enjoying where we are at presently geographically and in life?

That has become our goal for this summer. We live in one of the most amazing recreational meccas in the U.S., and we want to take full advantage of our surroundings.

We spent this 4th of July weekend camping on Ruedi Reservoir about 15 minutes outside of Basalt. Our group had 3 camp sites and about 15 campers. It was so fun to spend time wondering around the Frying Pan Valley and hanging out with great friends. We had bonfires and amazing meals. We water skied and explored the valley. Today, I am exhausted, sunburned and sore, but it is worth it!

Last weekend we went on a family hike up Aspen Mountain to enjoy the bluegrass music on Sunday afternoon. It was much more grueling than I remember, but nonetheless a wonderful way to spend the day.

So, expect to see a lot more blogs about our weekend adventures, as we hope to have many.

Until the next one,
