Baby Ragan is 32 Weeks Old!

Today we had another perfect appointment! We are so excited to meet Little Ragan in a few weeks. The nurse said everything looks perfect. She checked his heart, brain, kidneys, and much more. By the way, she confirmed, he is still, and definitely a boy! :) He was practicing his breathing which Beth said is a sign of well being in the womb, and was so cute to see. His little tongue was moving to push the fluids around in his mouth.

He has kissable lips and toes, but I am maybe a little biased, being his mommy and all.

His size is in the 77th percentile, which is a little shocking, but more reason to keep April 9th in my head as the day we hope to go into labor. Although it is 2 weeks early, it is still considered full term, and it is a full moon, which throws a lot of women into labor because of the gravitational pull on the amniotic fluids (cool, huh?).

We will keep you posted on any news or updates from Raganville, in the mean time, thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers as we await the arrival of little Ragan!

Exhausting Weekend...

This weekend is a blur. I had to sit through two days of real estate courses in Rifle (about 1.5 hours drive from Woody Creek). Despite the classroom time, we were able to get out and have some fun. Friday night Bryant and I had a couple over from church. Brent and Daniela Philips are both from South Africa, and hilarious. We had a great time getting to know them and laughing so hard and Brent's stories.

Saturday night we went on a date with Trev and Amy Jo. We ate at Crave in Basalt and went to see the movie Taken. It was so intense, I think my palms were sweaty the entire movie!

Sunday night we went to see my absolute favorite christian artist, Natalie Grant. She played at the Wheeler Opera house as a fundraiser for a local christian school. The show exceeded every expectation! She is an unbelievable singer. We were blown away! I highly recommend looking her up online and checking out her material. Her message is so clear in her music. So moving.

We have a huge week this week, too. Tonight we start childbirth prep classes. I can't believe it is already that time! I registered for this class in December, and now it is here. I had to take it last year when I was working towards my doula certification, but it will be new territory for Bryant. I am really excited to meet the couples in our class and get to know the parents of our little man's future friends!

31 Weeks!

This week has been pretty defining so far in the pregnancy. It is the very first week (with the exception of a couple in the very first trimester), that I am starting to feel some aches, pains and exhaustion of pregnancy. Bryant and I are still going to the Snowmass Rec Center to workout and, most importantly, bob in the pool. I have been feeling the urge to nest a lot lately, but since my baby shower isn't until March 7th, there isn't much nesting to be done until then. I have washed up all of the baby clothes we got from the Everett's and am starting to organize it.

Trevor and Amy Jo are coming over next weekend to help us move furniture around and at least empty the nursery so we can clean the carpets, paint and change the lighting.

We landed on a theme and found bedding we love for the nursery. It is called "short latte" by Bananafish. We are going with a very mild "Where the Wild Things Are" theme. I made the art for the walls several weeks ago, and can't wait to see how it all comes together.

I will be in real estate classes from 8:30-5:30 Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and am really hoping I re-learn enough to pass my real estate exams in the next couple of weeks.

The next few weeks are really crazy with work and trying to fit in dinners with friends before the baby comes in April. We are down to 62 days, but who is counting! Baby is moving like CRAZY this week. I actually saw his buns sticking out at the base of my ribs and then knees and elbows were shooting out in all directions. It is fun to see and experience, but a little creepy at the same time. We sure can't wait to meet the little bugger!

All the best,

Becca, Bryant and Baby

Here I Come a Waddling...

In Denver this weekend, I realized just how little stamina I have these days when I could only walk the Cherry Creek Mall for about 3 hours before I thought I would fall flat of my face. Bryant and I walked into Nordstrom, he looked at me, and said "you are spent, aren't you." I was really trying to save face, so we could continue browsing my favorite store, but I knew I wasn't going to make the cut. We spent about 15 minutes in Nords, both bought new running shoes (not that I am running much these days), and headed back to the hotel room. We put our pj's on and rented a couple movies. After the first one, I stood up to get some water and about fell over due to the pain in my sciatic nerve (deep in the glute muscle). So, the rest of the weekend, we took it pretty easy. We went to the gym Sunday morning and I walked on the treadmill, but I am definitely done pushing it until the baby comes. The waddle/walk is common most afternoons, and I just imagine the people staring at me as I walk around this uber athletic and fit town... Only 66 days until D-Day!

30.5 Weeks...9.5 To Go!

Per the request of my dear friend Kim, I have uploaded this picture of my big ol' belly. Please disregard the messy hotel room in the background and super poor quality of the picture! We were on our babymoon in Denver and I snagged the opportunity to take the picture as I was walking out the door to the gym. Bryant was already working out.

I am feeling really great, but starting to feel the weight of the baby on my lower back and hips, especially at night. Sleep is still not solid, but I see this as God prepping us for little man's arrival!

We had a great time in Denver and found some super cute outfits for baby Ragan. My favorites is from Gymboree. It has little monsters on it and says "Mommy's Little Monster" on the front. Per my sister in law, Amy Jo's suggestion, we also bought the matching hat/sock/blanket, and a matching outfit in 3-6 months. Overboard? Maybe a little, but it sure is cute!

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers! We are counting down to meeting our little rascal.

Babymoon!

This weekend Bryant and I are off to Denver with Trevor and Amy Jo for a babymoon in the big city! We are heading town tonight and will have coffee with my parents who have a lay over in Denver tomorrow morning on their way to take my neice Kyla to Disneyland (they take every grand child when they are 48 inches tall, and this is their 4th trip).

We have plans to finalize our registry at Babies R Us, we have massages scheduled for Saturday and dinner reservations at a great Italian restaurant Saturday night.

I am so excited to get away for a few days and relax as we head into the home stretch for baby Ragan's arrival.

On another note, I had another great check up today. Baby is still head down and sounds perfect. He is still moving like crazy too! We have another appointment in two weeks and will have an ultrasound, which is so exciting!

Until our return...

Walk in the Park

Today Emily came into town with baby Rocco and we went on a great walk during my lunch break. It was so nice to get some fresh air during the day. We got a really warm and cozy eskimo shell for our baby that I loaned to Emily for Rocco. He will probably be able to wear it for another day before he outgrows it. He was so cute. He looked like a miniature version of the boy off of Christmas Story who couldn't move his arms.

Squeeze Me!

My husband's family has this adorable fetish with affectionately squeezing each other. When Bryant and I first started dating, I thought I was going to have bruises from all of the love squeezes...then I met his family! Mali and I have had to grow thick skin to handle all of the squeezing that comes along with being a Ragan. Baby Ragan will have to do the same, too, as he has millions of squeezes ahead of him.

Today I was on my way to have lunch with Bryant and saw this onesie in the window of the Gap and had to buy it for little Ragan. It appropriately says "squeeze me" on the front. As if he will have to ask! I can't wait to take a picture of him wearing the onesie and send it to his Grandma Ragan and Aunt Kellie!

Weekend Packed With Adventure and Surprise

Peering over my belly to my toes last week

Bryant picking himself up after an hilarious fall on the Snowmass golf course

Siena and Baby Rocco David

This weekend was non stop! Friday afternoon Joshua & Company made the official announcement that we purchased another large real estate firm in town. It made for a pretty chaotic afternoon/evening at work. Then, we got a call from our great friends, Dave and Emily around 6:00pm on Friday saying they were on their way to the hospital to have their baby boy. Bryant and I went to the hospital and Little Rocco David was born at 11:45pm. Emily did an incredible job, and so did baby Rocco. We are so proud of them, and excited that our little man's best friend has made is entrance into this world. He is adorable and his big sister Siena, loves him to bits.

Saturday I spent the morning running errands and the afternoon hanging with Em and Rocco at the hospital. Saturday night we met up with a group of friends and went to see the Peking Acrobats. The show was incredible. We were blown away by the performance!

Sunday, we woke up and went to church and then off to Snowmass to xc ski around the golf course with Mali. What a blast! We had a great time, and she had an even better time. Bryant and I polished off the afternoon with a dip in the outdoor saline pool at the Snowmass Rec Center. We were supposed to go to Basalt for a Super Bowl party, but ended up staying on the couch at home to watch the game. I was really pulling for the Cards, and was so bummed they couldn't pull it off in the end.

I am beat today, but it was well worth it. We had an incredible Colorado weekend.

Until the next big adventure,
